This device connects to the EBPV control wire, transforming the factory valve into an electronically controlled exhaust brake. The package includes BD AutoLoc to ensure lock-up during exhaust brake activation, delivering full retarding force in 3rd and 4th gears. Note the 2-3 second delay in engine retarding due to hydraulic EBPV activation. While BrakeLoc is a budget-friendly alternative, it is not a substitute for an exhaust brake. For faster and more efficient braking, BD Diesel recommends their exhaust brake system with Variable Orifice Technology, which avoids the sticking issues of the stock EBPV valve.
