The Edelbrock 8827 is a two-piece insert-style water pump with a 1.80" diameter inlet designed for small block Chevrolet engines used in competition- The pump uses the same hub height (5 13/16") as the short leg pump found on 1971-82 Corvettes - It offers weight savings along with increased durability and cooling potential - The #8828 is a replacement insert service item for the #8827.- Installation is the same as for original equipment water pumps, although it does require longer than stock mounting bolts - Consult service manual for specific procedures, if necessary - A -2 AN bleeder screw is installed at the top of the pump. - Loosen the screw after filling the cooling system to remove any air.
