  • Ensure the area is very clean, free of wax, silicone, or other residues (even “Armor All” or similar detail products) before applying tape. 
    
  • Remove the protective film from adhesive, then apply firmly. Proper application pressure, and possibly temperature conditions (warm surface) help adhesion. (Standard for 3M tape adhesives though not all specifics in source.) 
    
  • These guard trims are not meant to directly replace larger moldings (i.e. stock roof moldings), but rather they overlay or augment them.

The OLM Limited Edition Dry Carbon Rain Channel Guard Trim is an accent exterior trim designed to enhance the look of the vehicle by adding subtle carbon fiber styling along the rain channels / roof moldings. It uses dry carbon fiber construction, giving a premium woven finish and lightweight feel. The trims come with adhesive backing (3M double-sided tape) to enable simpler installation.

It is intended more as a cosmetic enhancement rather than structural or aerodynamic — it does not replace any major structural body parts, just adds decorative guard/molding accents.
